SKOH is currently in search of a senior legal counsel based in Hungary, to provide legal and compliance support for its growing business in Europe.
Under the overall leadership of the HQ Head of Legal and working directly and collaborating extensively with other members of SK On and the worldwide legal team, the responsibilities of this senior legal counsel role encompass providing transactional and strategic legal advice on the general operation of SKOH. SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will carry out the following responsibilities.
Draft, review, and negotiate customer and vendor contracts, including purchase agreements, service agreements, license agreements, and lease agreements;
Manage and resolve legal disputes and investigations, including disputes with commercial parties, government investigations, labor arbitrations and litigation;
Manage and resolve local legal matters (e.g., HR issues, workplace injury claims, etc.) under the direct leadership of SKOH management and the overall guidance of the Head of Legal in Korea;
Act as the bridge between the SK On Global Legal & Compliance Office and SKOH management on legal and compliance issues, continually providing advice and guidance to the country management on relevant topics, challenges and major initiatives;
Manage local outside counsel effectively;
Perform legal analysis/research and recommend appropriate strategies to senior staff;
Draft, review, develop and implement internal governance policies, risk mitigation strategies and related guidelines; and
Supervise and oversee work completed by junior legal counsels.
Minimum Qualifications:
University degree in law and membership in the Hungarian bar association
Have successfully passed the Hungarian bar examination
Minimum of 6+ years of legal experience after the successful completion of the bar examination
Excellent command of spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in providing legal advice at or for manufacturing companies;
Experience in providing legal counsel on HR issues;
Experience in structuring, drafting and negotiating a diverse range of commercial agreements;
Experience leading negotiations with business partners and coordinating external legal counsels across complex and multifaceted legal issues; and
Experience in managing compliances issues such as HSSE, privacy, and labor laws.
